New England Emerging Professionals
The New England chapter maintains a membership of Project Managers, Business Analysts, Chief Information Officers, Developers, Consultants and Students, totaling over 2,900. Our organization focuses on connecting these industry members through presentations, networking, and discussion of the most important topics. For example, presentations about the Accountable Care Act or on Mobile Health.
A few opportunities offered by New England HIMSS to emerging professionals include:
- The New England HIMSS Dvora Brodie Grant-Backed Internship Stipend – Six New England HIMSS emerging professionals will be selected to receive a $1,250 grant to help offset costs which can commonly pose a barrier to participation in an unpaid internship opportunity.
- Professional Certification - The Certified Associate in Healthcare Information and Management Systems (CAHIMS) is the most respected and recognized entry-level certification program for healthcare IT professionals.
- Networking and Professional Events - New England HIMSS hosts monthly educational events which provide an opportunity for Heath IT professionals to network and learn about relevant topics impacting the Health IT industry. Student registration is always FREE.
- Expanding NEHIMSS support of Emerging Professionals, those with five years or less experience in Healthcare IT, is part of the HIMSS's strategic plan. We encourage all Healthcare IT students to become student members NEHIMSS. More information about student membership can be found Here.
